Cliff has been involved with PublicSafety for 42 years.
Has a military background with the U.S. Air Force and was trained in air traffic controller (ATC).
In 1984 he was a Charter Member of the National Flight Paramedic Association and was a flight medic with Evansville Life Flight program for 27 years.
Cliff has served several years as the Chairman, and Vice Chairman of the Vanderburgh County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC)
Cliff was also formerly a member of the Indiana FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Task Force One (INTF-1) as a HAZMAT Specialist, and has been deployed on several hurricanes and flood responses.
He is co-founder and volunteers time as a Search Manager for the Ohio Valley Search and Rescue team, which is a wilderness team of professional volunteers that search for lost or missing persons within 100 miles of Evansville, Indiana.
He is a retired Battalion Chief of Operations for the Evansville Fire Department, responsible for the Fire Suppression Division which includes Technical Rescue Units, Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Materials Team, and Evansville Fire Disaster Planning. He retired from EFD in 2014.
He is currently the EMA Director for Evansville and Vanderburgh County Emergency Management Agency.
Cliff is also on numerous state and national advisory committees for Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Emergency Management and Homeland Security projects.
Today he is a strong advocate of the use of unmanned aerial systems, UAS, in disaster response and recovery, and holds a FAA remote pilots license.
